Accountant (Grants/Contracts) - FT - Portage County, Ohio

Our progressive not-for-profit and for-profit organization headquartered in Kent, Ohio, with locations in nine counties throughout Ohio, seeks a Grants Accountant who has experience with federal awards, LLCs, and tax issues, as well as familiarity and experience with auditing the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA).  This position supports the monthly close, ensures compliance with the HEARTH Act, tracks and monitors multiple grants and contracts, and collaborates with outside auditors from the Federal, State, County, and other regulatory bodies.  Due to the importance of this role, it interacts with all levels of management, including the President and CEO. 

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area of study with three to five years of experience in an accounting- or finance-related field and proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Office products.  We seek someone who can work successfully individually and in a team, and who has effective oral and written communication skills.  Because of the importance of accuracy and compliance in this role, candidates must have strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively track, analyze, and interpret data with multiple dimensions.  Ideal candidates will be looking to move from a public accounting firm or have public accounting experience.
