This position functions on an integrated services team within the University Hospitals Portage Medical Center emergency department to assist in the identification of behavioral health needs in presenting patients through brief screening, diagnostic assessment, crisis support, and intervention. This position contributes to disposition planning and level of care determination for patients, and provides linkage and referral to the appropriate resources. In addition, he/she will develop and maintain collaborative relationships within the community referral sources, hospitals, and community stakeholders. Driving is an essential function of this job.
Qualified candidates must have Ohio licensure as LPCC or LISW and have/maintain an excellent driving record. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; effective interpersonal skills; knowledge and skill relative to mental illness and related dynamics, risk and diagnostic assessments, crisis triage and intervention, de-escalation, and treatment modalities. Must have effective customer service skills and sound clinical judgment; must be able to work effectively and collaboratively as a team in an emergency department setting, interacting with clients, external care providers, other clinicians and doctors, and support staff. Must be able to comply with University Hospital's vaccination and other eligibility testing requirements for direct care personnel.
