Cash Application Specialist

Coleman Health Services a nationally recognized not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs to foster recovery, build independence, and change destinies for individuals, families, and businesses in our community. We are seeking a full-time Cash Application Specialist to be working on site in our Kent location. This position will ensure accurate, timely recording of incoming payments into the organization's accounting system with a focus on attention to detail.

Job duties included for the Cash Application Specialist:

  • Overall reconciles daily deposits, apply payments, and resolve discrepancies
  • Payment posting
  • Remittance review
  • Discrepancy resolution
  • Adjustments & credits
  • Coding & posting
  • Reconcile daily remittances to bank/credit card deposits
  • Create reports
  • Maintain documentation
  • Assist with special projects

Minimum Qualifications needed to be a successful Cash Application Specialist:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with accounting software like SAP, Oracle, GP, or QuickBooks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to professionally handle inquiries from various individuals and have critical thinking skills
  • Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications needed to be a successful Cash Application Specialist:

  • An associate's degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • Two+ years of experience in Insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid billings and with applying payments, preferably in mental health billing
  • Experience with electronic billing for all billing types and/or payors
