Crisis Line Specialist - 2nd shift

Coleman Health Services, formerly Coleman Professional Services (CPS), is a nationally recognized not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs to foster recovery, build independence, and change destinies for individuals, families, and businesses in our community. We are seeking a 2nd Shift, Crisis Line Specialist for our facility in Canton, Ohio. Please note, this is an in-office position, not hybrid or remote.

Schedule: M-F with at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) per month.

Hours: 4P - 12A with some degree of flexibility.

Pay Range: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on combined education and experience

Duties Include:

  • Provide crisis intervention, support, information, and referral by phone and/or face-to-face.
  • Serve as point person for community constituencies as needed.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity, empathy, objectivity, professionalism, effective customer service skills, and sound clinical judgement in the course of all work.
  • Complete telephone screening and triage to determine the needs and desires of consumers.
  • Build and maintain community relationships with personnel at community agencies, State behavioral health organizations, and local hospitals with behavioral health units.
  • Provide crisis intervention via phone for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
  • Respond to the Crisis Text Line when assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Three years of experience with mental health services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral health related field
  • Certification or similar credentials in crisis intervention, de-escalation, or mediation
  • Completion of advanced CIT Training at state or national level.
