Director of Human Resources & Compliance - FT - Portage County, OH

The Director of Human Resources & Compliance leads a team of HR professionals, is responsible for providing information and support to other employees regarding policies, procedures, and practices. This position is an in-office job based out of our headquarters in Kent, Ohio.

What are we looking for in the Director of Human Resources & Compliance?  

  • Lead recruiting efforts of the company, including the use of social media
  • Provide oversight and supervision to a small HR Team of 2-4 people
  • Work closely with Coleman managers, involving training new managers on HR&C
  • Able to work effectively and collaboratively as a team, interacting with employees, vendors, and other internal or external customers
  • Provide consultation on HIPAA and update policies and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure staff continually measure and assess services and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement remediation plans

What qualifications will you need to be a successful Director of Human Resources & Compliance? 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • One year of supervisory experience

  • Experience handling EEOC and OCRC claims
  • Three years' related HR Generalist experience
  • Experience with recruiting using social media platforms
  • Two years' experience training staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to compile and analyze data
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Occasionally able to work non-traditional hours

Preference given to the following candidates:

  • PHR or SPHR certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
