Family/Parent Peer Support- Mobile Response (MRSS)

Coleman Health Services is a nationally recognized not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs to foster recovery, build independence, and change destinies for individuals, families, and businesses in our community. We are seeking a Family/Parent Peer Support Specialist to provide peer support services throughout Allen County, Ohio, as a member of the Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) Team. The Family/Parent Peer Support Specialist provides guidance, hope and support towards recovery through personal experience and growth on a reciprocal basis. Multiple shifts available for a flexible schedule. Pay starts at $18 per hour!

Duties Include:

  • Mentor and assist youth and families through mental health crises and restore calm within the family
  • Assist in identifying resources, supports and services based on youth and family needs
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) Team to further support youth and families throughout the stabilization and transition phases
  • Function as part of an interdisciplinary team and develop and maintain effective relationships with community professionals
  • Be a member of the newest and most valued service line for youth as we increase awareness and bring hope to the Crisis Continuum of Care in Allen County.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certified Family/Parent Peer Support Specialist through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services or willing to obtain this certification (we will assist!)
  • Have lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a child who has been involved with behavioral healthcare services
  • Have and maintain an excellent driving record
  • Have high school diploma or equivalent
