Outpatient & Jail-based Counselor

Coleman Health Services, a nationally recognized mental health and substance use services provider, is seeking a counselor and/or social worker to join our team! This position is located in Ravenna, Ohio.

Counselors at Coleman work as a part of a cohesive, multi-disciplinary care team to provide the best outcomes for the clients and families we serve. This position will also provide brief counseling and safety assessment interventions to inmates at the Portage County Justice Center.

Job Duties

  • Providing Counseling and Diagnostic Assessment services to clients
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
  • Maintaining appropriate documentation for services
  • Working with jail staff to determine when an assessment is needed
  • Providing consultation to jail staff regarding the mental health needs of inmates

Qualifications

  • Master's degree and LPC/LPCC, LSW/LISW (or higher) licensure
  • Willingness to get NPI and Medicaid billing number (we'll help!)
  • Experience in a mental health or crisis unit work setting (1+ years preferred)
  • Able to pass a criminal background check
