Prevention Specialist

Coleman Health Services, a nationally recognized not-for-profit mental health and substance use services provider is seeking a full time Prevention Specialist to provide school- and community-based suicide prevention and mental health prevention services throughout Logan County and Champaign County. The Prevention Specialist will focus on promoting mental wellness, reducing stigma, increasing awareness of behavioral health resources, and strengthening protective factors among youth, families, schools, and communities.

Job Duties of Prevention Specialist include, but are not limited, to:

  • Deliver evidence-based mental health and suicide prevention programming within schools and community settings throughout Logan County and Champaign County.
  • Assist with planning, coordination, and engagement efforts for local prevention coalitions and community partnerships.
  • Collaborate with schools, behavioral health providers, community organizations, and stakeholders to identify prevention needs and strengthen community supports.
  • Collect participation data, outcome measures, and program documentation in accordance with agency and grant requirements.
  • Assist in developing prevention materials, communication efforts, and educational resources aligned with coalition and organizational goals.

Qualifications of the Prevention Specialist

  • Bachelor's degree in a social service-related field or three-years' experience
  • Willing to get NPI and Medicaid Billing number (we'll help!)
  • Maintain excellent driving record
