Mental Health Technician

Coleman Health Services, a nationally recognized not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs, has an opening for a dependable individual to work with people with mental illness. Individuals will be working in a residential setting in Stark County, Ohio. Responsibilities include engaging with clients, monitoring client behaviors, and assisting with daily living skills. This position pays up to $14.00/hour. The schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays 9a-5p and every other Sunday 9a-5p

Duties of Mental Health Tech include:

  • Work with residents to improve hygiene, room cleanliness, and cooperation with others. Negotiate conflicts.
  • Observe behaviors for input on treatment planning and report significant changes to clinical staff. Encourage residents to meet specified goals and objectives. Show awareness of information gathered in residents' working files. Chart progress daily through residential progress notes.
  • Maintain clean environment in the home and follow the shift responsibilities and cleaning schedule assignments. Clean areas if a resident is unable and follow up with the clinical team.

Qualified candidates must have high school diploma and experience working with people with disabilities, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, adults, or related field. An excellent driving record is also required. Experience working with mental health behaviors preferred. Good organizational skills, working knowledge of computers and willingness to apply skills a plus.
