Caseload Assistant - PT or FT- Portage County, OH

We are seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time Caseload Assistant (CA) working with our Vocational Services department. This position will support the front door process of our local offices among other supportive duties as assigned and is based out of our Kent office. This position has the ability to be part-time or full-time.

Job duties of Caseload Assistant include, but not limited to:

  • Assisting clients applying and planning for OOD services in the office and community. This will include:

       o  Client interviews

       o  Outreach

       o  Obtaining third party documentation

  • Assisting consumers with job seeking skills training, interviewing skills and assists them with securing and maintaining employment
  • Supporting Vocational Coordinators
  • Issuing Authorizations
  • Become knowledgeable of government programs related to individuals with disabilities (e.g., SSI/SSDI, federal student financial aid, Rehabilitation Act & ADA)
  • Become knowledgeable in Vocational testing & assessment techniques

Qualified Caseload Assistant candidates will have:

  • Undergraduate degree in related field or 2 years' experience in vocational rehabilitation services
  • Must have and maintain excellent driving record
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Able to make decisions independently & with good judgment
  • BA and/or experience as a placement/marketing professional preferred
  • Direct experience working with BVR/OOD a plus
