Chief Officer, Intensive Crisis/Emergency Services

Coleman Health Services, a nationally recognized mental health and substance use services provider, is seeking an experienced counselor, social worker, or RN to be our newly added position of Chief Officer, Intensive Crisis/Emergency Services. The Chief Officer will oversee "High and Moderate Intensive" Crisis/Emergency Services creating a "Safe Place for Help." This position will be office based in Kent, Ohio, and require traveling to various Coleman locations that provide intensive crisis emergency services.

The Chief Officer, Intensive Crisis/Emergency Services will provide a comprehensive, integrated, and systems approach to care that is person centered, trauma informed, resilience and recovery oriented so that a person in need of crisis services receives the right level of care at the right time. This role will supervise all employees associated with the High Intensity and Moderate Intensity services, including nurses, technicians, directors, case managers, therapists, peers, administrative support positions, and matrixed supervision with Chief Medical Officer of prescribers.

Duties include:

  • Creation of a consistent Coleman wide system of care for high intensity emergency centers, extended stabilization centers, moderate intensity crisis centers, and extended stabilization centers.
  • Creation of policies and procedures associated with each level of care/service, including the initiation of non-consensual interventions for clients.
  • Collaboration with each location's Chief Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Participate in Clinical Council.
  • Ensure compliance with all Ohio Department of Behavioral Health, Ohio Medicaid, CARF standards, and all Coleman policies and procedures, including personnel policies.
  • Maintenance of all elements required for Ohio Department of Behavioral Health certification standards.
  • Collaboration with the Chief Compliance Officer for audits, surveys, or other requests.
  • Supervision of each location's Directors with a focus on staffing, compliance, safety, access, effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction.

Qualifications of Chief Officer, Intensive Crisis/Emergency Services:

  • BSN, RN; LPCC-S; or LISW-S
  • At least 5 years of related experience
  • At least 2 years of experience supervising a multi-disciplinary team
  • Willing to obtain or have NPI and an Ohio Medicaid number
  • Prefer someone that has dually licensed as RN/LPCC/LISW with 5+ years of experience in a secure crisis or crisis residential setting with adults, and at least 3 years of supervisory experience!
