Peer Navigator

Do you have lived experience with mental illness, or a substance use disorder, and are far enough along in your recovery that you are ready to help others who have similar lived experiences. Coleman Health Services an opening for a full-time Peer Navigator in Canton, Ohio.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete a health screening will all new clients to determine barriers to engaging in and/or staying engaged in services
  • Assist clients with resolving identified barriers
  • Provide resource information to clients
  • Assist clients with accessing other services

Peer Support Requirements:

  • High school diploma;
  • Certified Family/Parent Peer Support Specialist through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services or willing to obtain this certification (we will assist!)
  • Lived experience in mental illness or substance use;
  • Have and maintain acceptable driving record; and
  • Able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to work with persons who are experiencing mental health concerns and crisis
  • Must be willing to complete and have favorable results for criminal background check, drug/alcohol screening, and driving check if selected for the position
