Medical Director Intensive Crisis Services

We are seeking a Medical Director who will be responsible for the psychiatric care provided in Coleman Intensive Crisis Services. This position can be based out of our Ravenna or Canton, Ohio, locations.

Job Duties of the Medical Director of Intensive Crisis Services include, but not limited to:

  • Prepares and recommends policies and procedures to align with best practices, and following federal, state and local laws and certifying agencies
  • Assesses needs for providing psychiatric services in Coleman Intensive Crisis Services
  • Collaboration with stakeholders, including but not limited to, emergency first responders, sheriff and police jurisdictions, emergency departments, and hospital systems
  • Working in conjunction with the Chief Officers of business units where Crisis Intensive Services are located to assess, improve the delivery of care
  • Working in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Officer of Compliance, Chief Officer of Intensive Crisis Services, and Chief Nursing Officer on implementing best practices and standard of care, training curriculum, and preparation for certifications of Crisis Units.
  • Providing patient assessment, management, and care for persons being served in Intensive Crisis Services, with direct care accounting for 25% of time spent
  • Overview of prescriber call schedules
  • Physician Collaborator or supervisor for mid-level practitioners as needed
  • Regular site visits and presence at all locations that provide Intensive Crisis services

Medical Director of Intensive Crisis Services Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
  • Board-certified or eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active license with Ohio Medical Board
  • Able to exercise balanced judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, and to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent, and equitable manner.
  • Able to pass BCI/FBI background checks and MVR check
  • Prefer experience with emergency psychiatry
