Crisis Assistant (Opiate Hotline) - FT - Stark County, Ohio

Coleman Health Services, a nationally recognized not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs is seeking a Crisis Assistant to support the Opiate Hotline in Stark County, Ohio. The position's primary purpose is to provide information, education, and service navigation to individuals and families calling the Opiate Hotline in collaboration with other members of the Crisis Services Program. 

Positions Available:

  • Monday-Friday 8a-4p

Duties include:

  • Caller engagement
  • Identify presenting problem, needs, and service preference,
  • Coordinate referral, service navigation, and linkage
  • Perform duties specific to the administrative
  • Provide Narcan trainings to staff and individuals in the community
  • Engage with community partners to distribute Narcan
  • Keep updated records of callers, distributed Narcan kits, and resources
  • Other operations of the position

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in a mental health related field
  • One year of clinical experience in crisis intervention, mental health, or substance abuse services
  • Demonstrate an understanding of addiction, crisis response activities, de-escalation techniques, the recovery process, and an understanding of community agencies and resources
  • Skilled in triage practices and hotline services
  • Maintain current certification in CPR, First Aid, and Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training (NCI) that will be provided or coordinated by Coleman
  • Have and maintain valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must be computer literate
