Mobile Response (Family Peer Support Specialist) - FT - Portage County, Ohio

We are seeking a Family Peer Support Specialist to provide guidance, hope and support through personal experience and grown on a reciprocal basis to youth and their families experiencing a mental health crisis. Services are provided to individuals in their natural environment, schools, emergency rooms, and various community settings. Shift differential may apply.

Duties include: 

•Mentor and assist youth and families through mental health crises and restore calm with the family

•Assist in identifying resources, supports and services based on youth and family needs

•Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary members of the MRSS team

Qualifications: 

?Must have a lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a child who has been involved with behavioral health services

?Individuals who hold a peer support certification through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services

?Minimum of a High School Diploma

?Excellent driving record

Preference given to the following candidates: 

?Past or current work experience in an emergency room, community behavioral health or crisis intervention setting

?Past or current Experience in motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and trauma informed care

This crucial position is available thanks to a grant received from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services in collaboration with Governor Mike DeWine's Children's Initiative and the Ohio Department of Medicaid, allowing Coleman Health Services to build a team of providers to deliver Mobile Response and Stabilization Services 24 hours per day, seven days a week.
