Crisis Counselor (Canton Police Dept) - FT - Stark County, OH

Coleman Health Services is a nationally recognized not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs to foster recovery, build independence, and change destinies for individuals, families, and businesses in our community.  We are seeking Crisis Counselors to join our Crisis Services team! This position is located in Stark County, Ohio.

Crisis Counselors at Coleman work to provide crisis intervention and counseling services to individuals in their natural environment, schools, emergency rooms, and various community settings. This is a full-time position as a Crisis Counselor embedded in the Canton Police Department.

Duties include:

  • Respond to individuals in crisis within Canton City limits at the request of Canton PD, Crisis Center, or other community partners
  • Engagement, assessment, and trauma-informed behavioral health interventions to foster crisis resolution
  • Service navigation and linkage, follow-up care, family and community stakeholder collaboration
  • Function as part of an interdisciplinary team and develop and maintain effective relationship with community professionals

Qualifications:

·  Master's Degree with current LISW or LPCC licensure

·  Willingness to obtain NPI and Medicaid billing number (we'll help!)

·  Acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Crisis Intervention Experience

·  Experience with working with law enforcement and/or the legal system
